成城の素晴らしさを伝えたい！「惠の木」 / “Keinoki” ( English below)

私たちは今回、成城学園前駅北口から徒歩で約５分の「惠の木」の板垣さんに取材をさせていただきました！
惠の木さんは、主にふるさと名産品の販売やイベントの企画などをされているそうです。
伺ったときはちょうど月3回の卵の販売のための準備をしていらっしゃる所だったそうで、実物を見せて頂きながらそのお話をしていただきました。
福岡県の糸島でご親戚が作られている「てつやとのりこの玉子」という、コクのあるとっても美味しい卵です。いちど食べると普通の卵には戻れなくなってしまう程なんだとか……！

通常は九州でしか買えないものなのですが、特別に成城でも取り扱っていて、60人ほどの方が定期的に買っていらっしゃるそうです！

そして実はこの惠の木さん、数年前までは眼鏡屋さんだったんです。
17年前にご病気を経験されたことをきっかけに、「自分のやりたいことをやりたい」と商店街に加入され、ご主人が眼鏡の製造卸に携わっていた事もあり娘さんと一緒にお店をはじめたんだとか。
現在は息子さんがお店を引き継ぎ、成城でなく九品仏で「オプティメゾン」というお店を運営していらっしゃいます。大量生産のものではなく、一人ひとりに合うようなこだわりの品を扱われているそうですよ。
現在でも年に何回か成城のお店で予約制のイベントを行っていて、たくさんの眼鏡を試してみることができるそうです！

また、板垣さんは様々なイベント企画を通じて成城という街のことを発信する活動も行われています。
「成城はただのどこにでもある住宅街ではなく、しっかりとした理念や歴史のうえに成り立つ世界に誇れる素晴らしい街である」という、住んでいる人でも忘れがちなことを広めていくのが目標なんだとか。
「物事をマイナスに捉えず、出会ったことすべてに感謝し明るく過ごしたい。自分にできることは全部やりたい！」と素敵な笑顔で語ってくださり、私たちも見習わなければ！と思いました。

Conveying the wonder of Seijo！　“Keinoki”

 

We interviewed Ms. Itagaki of “Keikinoki”, a 5-minute walk from Seijogakuen-Mae station. This store mainly sells home-grown items and event planning.

When we visited, it was when they were preparing their three times a month egg sales. We were able to see the real thing and hear the story behind it.

Relatives in Itoshima in Fukuoka prefecture produce very delicious eggs with a rich flavor called “Tatsuya and Noriko’s eggs”. Once you eat it, you cannot be satisfied with regular eggs!

Usually you can only buy these in Kyushu. But the shop in Seijo has a special arrangement with them. About 60 people regularly purchase the eggs.

This shop was an optician’s until a few of years ago. Having experienced illness in the past, Ms. Itagaki thought that she would like to do what she wants to do. She joined the Shopping Street Promotion Association. Her husband was engaged in the manufacture of wholesale spectacles, and Ms. Itagaki opened a shop with her daughter.

Now her son runs the optician’s. Currently, he runs a shop called Optimison, which is in Kuhonbutsu, not Seijo. The store deals with products that are matched to each customer, rather than mass produced products.

Even today, there are advanced booking events at the Seijo store several times a year. Customers can try out a lot of types of glasses.

Ms. Itagaki is also active in spreading information about Seijo in the planning of various events. “Seijo is a wonderful city and proud of its firm philosophy and history.”

“I don’t want to be caught up in negativity, but to feel thankful for everything that I encounter. I want to do everything I can,” she said, smiling her wonderful smile.
